DESCRIPTION 
This exercise spreads panels with different length in a limited area to minimise material waste. Different from the conceptual exercise, with the use of anemone, distance left behind can be calculated every time the previous panel had found its position, automatically jump to next row if no space available, hence no more panel exceed the boundary.

DESCRIPTION 

This conceptual exercise allows you to convert a field of tiles into a field of interlocking puzzle pieces. Using the add-on “Anemone”, it does this by iteratively looping through all the tile edges and splitting them into “male” or “female” groups. If an edge has not been evaluated yet, it becomes “male”; if not, “female”. Here the puzzle edge is created by copying interpolation curve control vertexes either in- or outwards.

DESCRIPTION 

Craig Reynolds created a computer model in 1986 that coordinated animal- like motion such as bird flocks and fish schools. The generic simulated flocking creatures, the “boids” followed three simple steering behaviours which describe how an individual boid would manoeuvre, based on the positions and velocities of flock mates within its vicinity. This definition uses HoopSnake to define the behaviour of a series of vectors (boids) that follow the same three rules. 

PROCEDURE

1. Separation: steer to avoid crowding local flock mates.
2. Alignment: steer toward the average heading of local flock mates.
3. Cohesion: steer to move toward the average position of local flock mates.

DESCRIPTION 

This exercise uses Anemone and the record button to visualise the water flow direction and speed on a generic surface. Note that the cross product of two vectors gives a vector perpendicular to both. By taking the cross product of the Normal vector and the Z-vector we get a horizontal vector. By then taking the cross product of the normal vector and this horizontal vector we get the one that points downwards

This exercise starts from a random point cloud, connects the 2 points farthest away and keeps doing so until all points are depleted. For this, the recursive data is stored in 2 paths: {0} with the remaining points and {1} with the drawn curves. Used points in path {0} are removed with every iteration and the newly drawn curves from those points are added to path {1}.

PROCEDURE

1. Break up a polyline into its subcurves and use that as a starting value for Anemone
2. Divide each input-curve into 3 parts. Add a 4th point by rotating the end point around the 3rd point according to a specific angle parameter. Then draw lines through all 4 points.
3. Use the newly generated lines as input data for the following iteration
4. Test whether the amount of lines created supersedes a predefined parameter.
5. Connect this boolean value as a “stopper”, creating a while loop (= do something “as long as” / “while” a predetermined condition has not been reached).

DESCRIPTION

This exercise generates random points with two new velocities from the circle edge with each iteration and moves them towards the centre. A controller is created by using a MD slider to eliminate the points and gain points. When the dots reach the central zone, a number display at the centre increases. When the number exceeds 100, the looping process will be terminated. The Game is over.
