Golden Moon: Digital Design Meets Traditional Craftsmanship
by Crolla K.
ABSTRACT |The design and construction of the Hong Kong Festival Pavilion “Golden Moon” is the practice of taking the locally rooted traditional craft “bamboo scaffolding” into the digital design and its realization. The project portrays how contemporary design methods can assist tradition in evolving and adapting to changing times and needs, when they are strategically merged to a geometric complex built efficiently at low cost.
